Cracks or lines of various widths, length and depth in the paint finish.
Common Cause
Existing cracking of the old paint film is not sanded completely before topcoat.
Imperfect aged existing paint which is incompatible to the refinishing system
Unsuitable substrate treatment, rough sanding material, not cleaned enough, improper application of body filler
Cracks from putty
Excessive thickness
The paint is not mixed well with hardener and thinner before spraying, under reduced or reduced with the wrong thinner.
The substrate is too cold or too hot while spraying
Repair
If slightly affected, re-sand the affected area and re-spray.
In serious cases, remove the existing paint and apply the colour system again.
